Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council has said the initiative isn't a council scheme.
Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council has warned about a leaflet posted to residents offering to supply ‘free energy efficiency initiatives’.
The leaflet has been posted through the doors of people in Twycross and has the council’s logo printed on it and states this is a council-backed scheme.
Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, said: "This isn’t a council scheme. We don’t know anything about this company and we are taking further action to prevent them from repeating this inaccurate claim.
"In the meantime, we want to warn residents not to be misled by this."
Residents are asked to inform family or friends who live in the area.
