Warwickshire Police have temporarily closed a section of Astley Lane.

UPDATE (9.15pm Wednesday 14 December)

Warwickshire Police have released this statement: "Throughout the afternoon and this evening we have been conducting a search to ensure young people who were reportedly walking on the ice at Nuneaton’s Seeswood Pool are safe and well.

"This was a precautionary measure, and it was conducted alongside our colleagues at Warwickshire Fire and Rescue.

"No evidence has been found that anyone has come to any harm.

"Should there be any updates, we will share them accordingly.

"If you have further information relating to the initial incident, please call us on 101, citing incident 230 of December 14."

 

Police and firefighters are currently at Nuneaton’s Seeswood Pool, off Astley Lane, following reports of people being seen on ice at around 3.26 pm this afternoon (14th December).

Officers are working with Warwickshire Fire and Rescue at the scene to establish if the reported people have left the site safely.

Warwickshire Police have temporarily closed a section of Astley Lane.

Officers are asking anyone who may have been in this area in the last hour and a half, and may have information that can help with these enquiries to contact 101, citing incident 230.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said; “We're currently in attendance at Seeswood Pool, Astley Road in Nuneaton after a concern for welfare call at 3.33pm.”
