Fire at Leicester Royal Infirmary

The hospital said a fire broke out on a disused ward that was undergoing construction work.

Leicester's Hospitals said a critical incident was declared at 6pm on Friday 26th July and a number of wards were temporarily evacuated as a precaution.

Leicester’s Hospitals can confirm that a small fire broke out on an unoccupied ward undergoing construction work on Level 5 of the Balmoral Building at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
