New Year shopping in Hinckley will be given a boost this year with free car parking in selected town centre car parks on Saturdays.
Hinckley & Bosworth Council will be allowing free parking on Lower Bond Street, Druid Street, Alma Road, Holliers Walk, Trinity Vicarage Road and Thornycroft Road car parks every Saturday, in January to thank shoppers for their loyalty and to increase trade for shops and businesses.
The free parking offer applies from 9am on Saturday 5, 12, 19 and 25 January. Shoppers are reminded that parking is free in all council run car parks on Sundays throughout the year.
Executive Member for Town and Urban Communities at the Borough Council, Cllr Miriam Surtees said: “We are delighted to be able to extend our free parking offer in January to continue to support town centre businesses during what can often be a quieter shopping month. We trust that this free offer will encourage residents and visitors to continue to shop local, visiting our local stores, market, cinema and restaurants.”
