Have an adventure this summer with holiday activities on offer

From climbing to canoeing, there are plenty of adventures to be had in Charnwood this summer.

Charnwood Borough Council’s holiday activity programme is back for the summer with a host of activities on offer for children, young people and families.

New activities include arts and crafts, orienteering, team building and yoga.

Activities will run from Monday, July 17 to Friday, August 25, 2017 at locations across the borough including Loughborough, Birstall, Mountsorrel, Shepshed and Syston.

Chris Traill, Strategic Director for Neighbourhoods and Community Wellbeing, said: “We’ve got even more on offer to keep active outdoors this summer.

“A number of activities focus on exploring and learning more about the wildlife we have in the borough, including pond dipping at Stonebow Washlands and taking part in our forest schools at the Outwoods.

“Favourites such as archery, horse riding and basketball also return this summer.

“We’re committed to helping children in the borough to stay active and healthy and these activities are a fun and affordable way of doing that.”

There are activities for different age groups and events aimed at the whole family.

• Orienteering
• Canoeing
• Boccia
• Geocaching
• Cheerleading
• Family Bike Rides
