Hinckley branch of Santander to close in July

It's one of 7 branches in Leicestershire and over 100 across the country slated to close across the UK this Summer.

The bank said branch transactions fell by 33% over the two years before the pandemic and declined by a further 50% in 2020.

Mobile and online transactions have meanwhile been growing by 20% each year, with almost two thirds of overall transactions now digital.

According to Santander, "The majority of the closing branches are less than three miles from another Santander branch, and the furthest distance is five miles."
