Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Loughborough.
A spokesperson from Leicestershire police said: "at around 12.10pm on Tuesday 14 July a woman in her 50s was approached by two women in Market Place.
They had a conversation with her, placing jewellery around her neck, but it's believed they also tried to remove a necklace she was already wearing.
The victim’s necklace was not taken and the suspects then left the area."
Detective Constable Anne Worrow, who is investigating the incident, said: “I’d like to speak to anyone with information regarding this incident – or who has seen people in Loughborough town centre acting in a similar manner.
“Have you been approached? Has someone offered you a necklace or tried to put one on you?
“Please cast your mind back – any information you have could help my investigation.”
