The Bosworth Medieval Medley gets underway on Monday, 16 August.

There are only a few days to go until Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre plays host to a week of on-site and digital events to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth.

The Bosworth Medieval Medley gets underway on Monday, 16 August, featuring a wide range of events and activities.

Councillor Christine Radford, county council cabinet member for heritage, leisure and arts, said: “There really is something for everyone at the Bosworth Medieval Medley which showcases the rich heritage that Leicestershire has to offer."

The daily programme includes the popular Knight School, new themed evening guided walks and daytime family-friendly walks led by a costumed guide, the chance to meet and chat to heritage volunteers in the award-winning exhibition and a Battle of Bosworth-themed QR code trail around the battlefield.

There are also several online events, including a craft competition, a Q&A session with three prominent authors and historians on the role of women in the Wars of the Roses and a chance for people to share their pictures of Bosworth Medieval Festivals from years gone by.

The weekend of Saturday, 21 and Sunday, 22 August will see the site play host to a busy events programme.

Visitors will be able to get up close to medieval history at the living history camp, where re-enactment groups LEAD and the Beaufort Companye will recreate the camps of Richard III and Henry Tudor on the eve of the battle and will be able to give visitors an eye-opening insight into the day-to-day workings of a battle camp.

Living history activities will run throughout both days, and will include a DIY Battle of Bosworth in which audience members will get the chance to participate.
