Loughborough Town Hall closed until April due to fire damage

The Town Hall is being repaired so it can reopen to customers.

It has been confirmed that Loughborough Town Hall will reopen on the 3rd of April after repair work has taken place.

The historic building was involved in a fire on the 15th of March and has been closed since then.

Loughborough Town Hall has issued the following statement: "Following the fire in Loughborough town centre on Wednesday, March 15, we can confirm that Loughborough Town Hall will extend its closure period to the public until Monday, April 3, 2023.

"This is to allow additional time for repair and cleansing works to take place on the venue’s ventilation system following water and smoke damage.

 "We can confirm that all performances and events due to take place this week have been postponed and our Box Office will be contacting all ticket holders as soon as possible to discuss next steps.

 "Our Box Office phones lines will remain closed to incoming calls and the Sock Gallery will remain closed to the public during this time.

 "LTH staff are continuing discussions with organisers/producers and we will announce any rescheduled dates at the earliest opportunity.

 "We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has provided offers of support and kind words during this challenging time for the venue.

 "LTH will provide further updates when can and we look forward to welcoming audiences back into Loughborough Town Hall soon."
