A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses and motorists with dashcams to come forward after a fatal collision in Sapcote on Sunday 30th January.
The police received a report that a silver Audi Q5 had collided with a cyclist on Coventry Road, near the junction of Sharnford Road.
The cyclist – a man in his 60s – was taken to hospital in Coventry but died later that day.
A 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while under the influence of drugs. He has since been released under investigation.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hawkins, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time the collision occurred and who saw what happened.
“I’m particularly keen to speak to any motorists with dashcams and who witnessed the collision or saw either the silver Audi or cyclist prior to it occurring.”
