'Minimise travel' - Government Covid guidance for Leicester

The advice affects social distancing and travel.

Whereas guidance for most of the UK remains to exercise caution when mixing with other people, the advice for Leicester is to stay 2m apart from people indoors unless they're part of your support bubble.

The spread of the Delta variant, first discovered in India, also means the government are advising people to minimise travel in and out of affected areas, including Leicester City.

Although six people can meet indoors in houses and hospitality venues, the advice is to meet outside rather than inside where possible.

Last month there was controversy after advice was changed to imply a travel ban for Leicester and other areas.
