A 39-year-old man from Nuneaton was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court last week (11 August).
Dean Michael Cocks of St Mary's Road, Nuneaton, was found guilty of sexual assault by digital penetration and sentenced to 2 years and 3 months in prison.
He was found not guilty of rape in relation to an incident that happened at a property in the Camp Hill area of Nuneaton in the early hours of Friday 2 October, 2015.
DS Carl Buckley of Nuneaton CID said: "I would like to commend the courage of the victim, a young woman in her 20s, who has shown a great deal of bravery in supporting our investigation and allowing us to bring a sexual offender to justice.
"After a thorough investigation, I hope that our victim feels some sense of closure and that her strength encourages other victims to come forward and report offences to the police."
