Police appeal over incident in Hinckley

Police closed Druid Street following the incident on 13th June.

Officers want to speak to anyone who saw an incident in Druid Street in Hinckley.

Police were called to the area on Monday 13th June just after 6.10pm.

A 17-year-old boy was reported to have been assaulted with a bladed weapon.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged.

A 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article, namely a machete, in connection with the incident.

Enquiries are continuing and officers are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw the incident or who has any information, and has not yet spoken to police, to make contact.
