'Please stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity.'
Hinckley Police are raising awareness about scams as they have had reports of traders targeting elderly and vulnerable residents during the festive period.
Their advice is 'if you receive any 'flyers' advertising cleaning or roofing services or visits from individuals claiming to offer similar services, ignore them and report it via 101.'
A Police spokesperson said: " a resident has been recently scammed out of a substantial amount of money. If it sounds too good to be true it often is. Please stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Enjoy the rest of the festive period and stay safe."
