Poppy petals will be released from the top of Memorial Clock Tower to honour Remembrance Day

The parade leaves Christ Church at 10.30 am passing along Hotel Street and High Street.

North West Leicestershire has outlined its plans to remember fallen soldiers at a Remembrance Day service and parade on Sunday 13th November.

The Coalville event is being organised by North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) in partnership with the Whitwick branch of the Royal British Legion.

Councillor Tony Gillard, the council’s Armed Forces Champion, said: “Remembrance Day is a chance to reflect and remember those we have lost, and to show our gratitude to those that are serving in conflicts around the world.

“Our Remembrance parade is always supported brilliantly by the public and I have no doubt we will see that again this year.” 

The parade leaves Christ Church at 10.30 am passing along Hotel Street and High Street. It will finish at the War Memorial in Memorial Square where a wreath-laying ceremony will take place.

During the two minutes' silence, poppy petals will be released from the top of the Memorial Clock Tower to honour those who served and currently serve in the armed forces.
