A pupil at Westfield Infant School in Hinckley has tested positive for coronavirus.
In a letter to parents on Tuesday it said a small number of children who have been in close contact with the individual have been asked to self-isolate for 14 days.
A statement from Westfield Infant School said: "We can confirm that a child at Westfield Infant School has tested positive for coronavirus.
"Keeping our pupils, staff and local communities safe is our highest priority.
"We have followed Government guidance and taken all of the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus and protect our pupils and staff.
"We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England’s Local Health Protection Team."
