"It is expected this delay will add several weeks to the currently expected timetable."

Blaby District Council have been informed that Developers Tritax Symmetry has withdrawn their application for the Hinckley National Rail Freight Interchange.

Tritax submitted the application to the Planning Inspectorate on the 6th of February for consideration.

However, according to BlabyDistrict Council,  Tritax did not submit the required technical report in their submission documents.

The report will now have to be prepared and Tritax will then need to resubmit their application.

Blaby District Council said: "This will restart the process from the start of the acceptance phase.

"It is expected this delay will add several weeks to the currently expected timetable."

The Hinckley National Rail Freight Interchange is earmarked for 662 acres of land between the M69 and the Leicester to Birmingham railway line.

As the scheme is considered to be of national importance its approval will be determined by the Secretary of State.
