Officers are appealing for witnesses.
Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed in Countesthorpe last week.
The robbery happened sometime between 4pm and 4.45pm on Wednesday 22 January as the victim was walking through fields along Jubilee Way and he suddenly became aware of someone walking behind.
As he walked through a gated area, he was confronted by three people in balaclavas. One of them demanded the victim’s property before he managed to run off.
The victim was chased to a wooded area close to Hospital Lane where he was kicked to the ground and punched several times. The victim was assaulted with a knife and sustained a number of superficial cuts to his face, body and hands as he tried to defend himself during the assault.
The victim managed to punch one of the suspects during the incident so there is a possibility he may have been left with an injury to his face.
The suspects ran off and are described as male and aged between 16 and 21-years-old. Two of them were described as a slim build, one around 6ft tall, the other around 5ft 8ins tall. The man he assaulted is described as a heavy/chubby build and around 5ft 8ins tall.
PC Glenn Spencer is investigating the incident and is appealing for information.
“The area is often used by dog walkers so there is a good chance that someone who may have been in the area witnessed this incident or saw these suspects in the area before or after.
“Anyone who may have any information about the people responsible is asked to contact police.”
