David Samuel Hurst, 51, of Oaston Road, Nuneaton pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin, assaulting an emergency worker and possession of cannabis.

On Friday (30 July) at Warwick Crown Court he was jailed for three years and three months.

April Hope, 48, of Abbey Street, Nuneaton pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin. At the same hearing she was jailed for 19 months.

The pair were arrested when officers searched a flat in Lister Street, Nuneaton as part of an ongoing investigation into the supply of drugs.

Hurst trapped an officer’s wrist in a door as she tried to gain access to a room at the flat.

Following their arrest, officers found evidence on phones that they were all involved in the supply of heroin.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Dan Stanton of Nuneaton Proactive CID, said: “This case identified that Hurst and Hope were actively involved in the supply of heroin on the streets of Nuneaton.

“We’ll continue to disrupt the supply of drugs in the town and bring to justice those people who inflict such misery on the local community.

“Information from members of the public is vital and we urge anyone with information about drug dealing to contact police, or Crimestoppers of you wish to remain anonymous.”
