The body of 35-year-old woman was discovered at a property in Seven Foot Lane in Nuneaton.
Police day they are investigating the unexplained death after the body of the woman was found by a family member on the evening of 1st July.
It was reported to police by paramedics at 11.21pm.
A 38-year-old man from Nuneaton has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody helping police with their enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Jon Belcher from Warwickshire Police CID said: "This investigation is in its very early stages and it is not yet clear what the cause of death was. At this time we are treating it as unexplained and we have man helping with enquiries.
"We're keen to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at the property, or saw the victim in the last few days."
