A strict set of new safety measures have been put in place by the developers because of Covid19.

Work on a luxury housing development near Market Bosworth has started after construction workers were urged to get back to work following the coronavirus lockdown.

Nuneaton based Springbourne Homes had closed the ten acre Hornsey Rise site on Bosworth Road, Wellsborough, seven weeks ago when the Prime Minister ordered a nationwide lockdown.

Now workers are back on-site constructing 19 luxury homes, but they say with a strict set of new safety measures in place to protect staff, sub-contractors and suppliers.

Springbourne’s chief executive Lee Harris said: “We carefully assembled everyone at the development, making sure there was two metres social distancing between us, and I outlined the new rules and guidelines we were now putting in place.

“In the face of the Coronavirus pandemic it is clear we have to learn new ways of working, movement, logistics and process.

“Rules will be fluid and process will be defined by experience as we find and develop innovative ways to keep us all safe.”

He added: “The underlying tone was to thank our team for returning safely and also how we must work together to protect each other, all our families and the site.

“That will be achieved by building trust in the total wellbeing of our team and our connected network. That is our top priority. Nothing is more important than everyone’s health and safety.”
