Residents invited to have a say on revised proposals for the old Leisure Centre Site, Coventry Road, Hinckley

Hinckley and Bosworth residents are being invited to give their views on revised proposals for a residential regeneration scheme on the site of the old Leisure Centre, Coventry Road, Hinckley.

The consultation event will take place on Wednesday 2 October from 9am to 7pm at the Atkins Gallery, Lower Bond Street, Hinckley.

A representative from Derby-based Green 4 Architects said:

Following our original application in 2018, we have taken on board both residents and Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council’s comments and revised our plans for the site. Key changes include reducing the number of flats from 89 to 66; reducing the number of storeys from seven to four and the Trinity Vicarage Car Park is to be retained by reducing the number of houses from 17 to just seven.

We have also made key changes to the parking provision from the original scheme with each house having two car parking spaces, and the 66 apartments spread over two four storey apartment blocks benefiting from allocated parking spaces. The total provision is now 76 parking spaces with three electric charging points in addition to the housing parking.

However in order that everyone can clearly understand the changes and have the opportunity to review them we will be hosting a consultation event on Wednesday 2 October, 9am to 7pm at the Atkins Gallery, Lower Bond Street, Hinckley. If you wish to speak to members of the design team they will be available between 5pm and 7pm and residents can ask questions as well as give their views at the drop in session. No appointment is necessary and everyone is welcome.

If anyone is unavailable to attend, they can email: info@green4architects.co.uk with any queries or comments or write to: Green 4 Architects, The Barn, Ockbrook, Derbyshire, DE72 3RW.

The deadline for comments is Monday 7 October.
