Three fire engines were sent to put out the blaze.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue received several 999 calls at 16:56 on the 3rd of December.

The fire, which started in the bedroom of a house in Middlefield Lane, spread and had 'broken through the roof'.

'Upon Fire Service arrival a first impressions message confirmed the property was well alight.'

Two Breathing Apparatus teams were used to fight the flames.

Three people were treated by the Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation and were taken to the hospital.

A fire investigation is being carried out is determine the cause of the fire.
