The homes should provide lower fuel bills for tenants.
Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council has completed a housing development with homes to rent.
The new site, named Raveloe Drive, consists of four 1-bedroom apartments and four 3-bedroom family homes.
The homes have been built using a modular build construction method so the houses were created off-site and then delivered in modules which helps to reduce building waste.
The modern homes have increased insulation and airtightness, excellent energy efficiency and lowered carbon footprint which makes the homes super-efficient.
This should mean a reduction in the running costs to anyone living in them, helping to combat fuel poverty.
A future tenant said: “The house is nicely designed on the outside, when first walking in I was amazed at how big it was. It had a homely feel to it and the inside is set out well for a family with children, plenty of space. I thought it was lovely and I’m really looking forward to living there.
“I am hoping with the new energy-saving aspects of the property it will help us financially and enable us to use less energy."
Recycled plastic kerbstones in the parking areas have also been trialled by the council to help to reduce the overall site carbon footprint by using recycled material instead of concrete.
