Smoke was seen coming from a train this afternoon.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue received a called at 13:49 today (Thursday 8th June) to reports of smoke coming from a diesel train in the station.
Two appliances from Loughborough and East Leake were sent, as well as a water carrier.
On arrival firefighters could see smoke coming from the train but no flames.
Further inspection showed a small fire had started under the train, and was put out by a hose jet.
Mountsorrel recycling site to close for essential repairs
Mountsorrel Recycling and Household Waste Site will temporarily close from Monday 27 October while essential repairs are carried out. The site is expected to reopen in early December.
