Firefighters received a number of calls this morning (4 Nov) reporting a large smoke plume near to the quarry in Mountsorrel.
Four fire engines were sent to the scene on Wood Lane, where crews discovered a four-storey building on fire.
The top two floors were "fully involved" a statement from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service said.
Crews were first called to Wood Lane, Mountsorrel at 6:30am.
Two aerial ladder platforms, a water carrier and a hose-layer unit to tap into local water source were also requested by crews tackling the blaze.
The incident is ongoing.
