Shoppers in Hinckley will be able to park for free in the town centre during the half term week after councillors approved a free parking scheme.
The scheme will allow people to park for free any time from Monday 19th October to Friday 23th October in three town centre car parks – Trinity Lane East (Rugby Road, opposite Domino’s), Castle (Hill Street) and Lower Bond St (opposite the Atkins building).
It expands on the free parking from 3pm initiative which has been available in these three car parks since it was approved by councillors late last year.
Council Leader Stuart Bray said: "Our town centre retailers and Hinckley BID are working hard to offer a range of Covid-secure promotional activities during the half term holiday so I’m pleased to confirm this council will be supporting this initiative by extending free car parking all day at a number of our key town centre car parks which are already offering free parking from 3pm.
"We trust this expanded free parking offer will make Hinckley an even more attractive destination and help shoppers to support our town centre businesses and take full advantage of the great range of shopping, leisure, services and events we have on offer here in Hinckley."
