The heritage sites which are run by the County Council have been closed since the end of March due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The doors have re-opened at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, which recently held a ‘virtual’ Medieval Festival.

Harborough Museum re-opens on Wednesday 9th September with the 1620s House & Garden at Donington-le-Heath and Melton Carnegie Museum due to open on Thursday 10th September. Charnwood Museum re-opened towards the end of last month.

Councillor Richard Blunt, county council cabinet member for heritage, leisure and arts, said: “We’re delighted that we are now able to re-open our heritage sites and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors back to enjoy them.

“Our priority is to ensure that the attractions are safe for visitors and staff. What remains the same is that we want people to come along and have an enjoyable time with us – as well as staying safe."

Visitors to all the sites will need to pre-book a timed slot.
