Loughborough flowers win Gold

The town has won the competition 10 times since 2011.

Loughborough has won gold once again at the East Midlands in Bloom awards.

The town was awarded the title in the small city category at this year’s awards ceremony.

Councillor Hilary Fryer, deputy chair of the Loughborough in Bloom board, said: “To be awarded gold for the tenth time since 2011 is a fantastic achievement for everyone involved. Bloom is a community effort and although the past 18 months have been challenging due to the pandemic, this result is testament to everyone’s hard work and commitment."

The theme for this year's Loughborough in Bloom display was the 800th anniversary of the Royal Charters which gave permission for Loughborough market.

Loughborough town centre was blooming with vibrant pink, purple and orange flowers, and plants.

There was also a judge’s award for Mountfields Allotment in Loughborough.
