Residents are invited to gather in Loughborough on Remembrance Sunday to pay tribute to the servicemen and women who lost their lives in conflicts around the world.
The town's annual Remembrance parade and service is expected to be one of the largest in the East Midlands, bringing together members of the armed forces community, veterans, organisations and local residents.
The Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Colin Hamilton, will be taking part in this year's commemorations, which will include a two-minute silence to remember those who fought and died in service of their country.
The occasion will also recognise the sacrifices made by serving members of the armed forces and their families, as well as those still affected by conflicts around the world today.
The Mayor is encouraging people to support the Royal British Legion by buying and wearing a poppy with pride. Donations help the charity continue its work supporting serving personnel, veterans and their families.
Residents are welcome to attend and join the community in remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
