Officers investigating a serious assault in Nuneaton have arrested a man.
A statement from Warwickshire police said: "On Thursday, 29 October at around 8.10pm, police were called to a report that a man had allegedly thrown a lit firework at a woman on Meadow Street.
"The firework exploded resulting in the victim, a woman in her 30s, suffering serious injuries to her face and legs. She was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been released.
"A 51-year-old man from Nuneaton has been arrested in connection with this incident, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue."
