Free health MOTs are being offered to all residents in North West Leicestershire as part of a bid to improve health and wellness across the district.

Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport is working with North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC) to promote the national Public Health England ‘One You’ campaign.

The district’s campaign week kicks off on Monday 22 January and is designed to help residents achieve the aims of One You by providing tools and support to make small, easy changes towards a longer healthier life.

This will see NWLDC’s health and physical activity team offer free health assessments at Coalville Library on Saturday 27 January between 10.15pm and 2pm. Booking is not required.

The health assessments include, weight, BMI, blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol testing.

One You encourages people to make positive, healthier changes, whether it be being more active, eating better, drinking less alcohol, going smoke free, dealing with stress better, sleeping well or by simply asking themselves – how are you?

Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport is also organising a number of other events and roadshows across the district, with more information online

The website also has more details about the One You campaign and gives people the chance to take the ‘how are you’ quiz.
