Anyone who has thought about becoming a foster carer is encouraged to take the opportunity of the new year to find out more.
Leicestershire County Council’s first Find out about Fostering event of 2019, due to be held at 6:30pm on Tuesday, 15 January at County Hall in Glenfield, is aimed at helping people understand more about the nature fostering.
It has been designed to break myths around fostering and encourage new carers to come forward who may have discounted themselves because they feel their circumstances may be unsuitable.
If you’ve been thinking about fostering for a while, perhaps 2019 will be the right time to begin your rewarding fostering journey.
“Many people think about fostering, but, for whatever reason, discount themselves as they believe their circumstances may not be suitable for fostering.
“However, in most cases this is far from the truth and, at these events, the team and current foster carers will provide all the support and information needed."The event will provide an opportunity for people to meet and talk to carers, as well as the council’s fostering team and find out about how providing foster care is a hugely rewarding role.
