The incident happened yesterday afternoon.
A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after a collision in Little Shaw Lane, Markfield.
Police were called at 3.30 pm yesterday (19th June) to the incident which involved a female pedestrian and a black Volkswagen car.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 20s, was taken to hospital where she currently remains in a serious but stable condition.
No other injuries were reported.
A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving in connection with the incident. He has since been released under investigation.
Officers are appealing to anyone with any information in relation to the collision to make contact.
Detective Constable Hal Kinsey, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A woman remains in hospital with serious injuries. We are continuing to establish the full circumstances of the collision and are appealing to anyone with any information who has not yet spoken to us to make contact.
“Were you in the area yesterday afternoon? Did you witness the incident or see the pedestrian or car beforehand? Do you have any dashcam footage or CCTV footage from the area?
