A 40-year-old man was in Newdegate Street around 11.45 pm on Friday, when it's understood that he was approached by a group.
One of the males in the group is then reported to have made a homophobic comment and a verbal altercation took place.
The victim was then assaulted causing him to suffer a broken nose and fractured eye socket.
Police enquiries are ongoing but they would like the individuals pictured to come forward to help with the investigation.
Officers are also appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or who witnessed the incident to get in touch.
