Fire engines from Hinckley and Nuneaton were called to help.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue were called to a fire in Granville Gardens, Hinckley on Monday evening after receiving a 999 call.
When firefighters arrived at the scene they found the flat 'heavily smoke logged' and located the source of the fire in the kitchen.
The residents were forced to evacuate the flats due to the blaze.
No one was injured in the incident and the cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
