Leicestershire County Council's recycling and household waste site in Barwell is temporarily closing from Sunday 2nd June for essential maintenance work to be carried out.
The Stapleton Lane site is expected to be closed for around three weeks, with a re-opening date of Saturday, 22 June.
During the closure period, local residents and permit holders who use the Barwell site can use alternative sites at:
- Coalville RHWS, Linden Way, LE67 3LA (Saturday-Wednesday, 9am–7pm)
- Whetstone RHWS, Enderby Rd, LE8 6JL (Thursday-Monday, 9am–7pm)
Kerbside collections will continue to take place as usual.
The temporary closure of the Barwell site is necessary to allow us to undertake maintenance work. Two other local waste sites (Whetstone and Coalville) will be available for residents to use during this time and we apologise for any inconvenience caused by the closure
(Blake Pain, county council cabinet member for environment)
