National Highways have confirmed that the road is now open.
The A5 in Warwickshire is now back open after it was closed in both directions between the A444 (near Fenny Drayton) and B4116 (near Atherstone) due to a serious incident.
Drivers are advised to expect disruption and to allow extra journey time.

National Highways are advising people to use the diversions below.
Eastbound Traffic:
- Exit the A5 eastbound at Holly Lane island and take the first exit onto the B4116 northbound
- At the Sheepy Road junction, turn left onto the B4116 northbound
- Continue on the B4116 through Sheepy Magna towards Twycross
- At the B4116/B585 Mill Lane junction, turn right onto the B585 Wellsborough Road
- Continue until you reach the junction of the A444
- Turn right on to the A444 and continue southbound to rejoin the A5 at Redgate junction.
Westbound Traffic:
- Exit the A5 westbound at Redgate junction and turn right onto the A444 northbound
- Continue on the A444 northbound until the A444/B585 junction
- Turn left onto the B585 and continue until the B585/B4116 junction
- Turn left onto the B4116 and continue through Sheepy Magna
- Continue on the B4116 until the Holly Lane junction and turn right on to the B4116
- Rejoin the A5 westbound at B4116/A5 Holly Lane Island
