Who is up for election in the local area today?

Polling stations close tonight at 10 pm.

Elections are taking place throughout the country today.

For the first time, voters will need to take ID to the polling station.

Here is a list of which seats are up for election in each local area.

Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council 

• Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council (all seats)
• All parish councils in the borough area (all seats)

Charnwood Borough Council

• Charnwood Borough Council (all seats)
• All parish councils in the borough-area (all seats)

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council

• Nuneaton and Bedworth do not have elections in May 2023.  The next scheduled election will be held on 2 May 2024.

North West Leicestershire District Council

• All 38 councillors who represent the 38 wards are up for election.

Blaby District Council

• Elections will be held for all 36 district council seats and 24 Parish Councils.
