It was taken in the early hours of Friday morning.

An ATM was taken overnight from Loughborough train station and officers are asking the public for their help.

At about 2.20am this morning (Friday) the ATM at the station was taken from its location and dragged along Nottingham Road, Loughborough.

It appears as though it was dragged along the road when it was clear that it would not fit in a nearby Ford Transit van connected to the incident. It’s also believed a dark coloured – grey or black – BMW 1 series is connected to the theft.

Police were called but the suspects had left the scene before their arrival.

British Transport Police is leading the investigation, working closely with Leicestershire Police’s complex crime team. DS Jenny Tattersall from Leicestershire Police, said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who saw the ATM being dragged down the street in the middle of the night. Debris on the road shows it was taken from the train station towards Cotes.

“It’s also likely that there are discarded bits of ATM machine and cash cassettes in the area – if anyone finds any, please contact police. It will all assist with our investigation.

“Also, any one who sees an abandoned white Transit van with a missing number plate – this might be connected. Please call us.”
