Each candidate needs 100 nominations from other Conservative MPs to pass through to the ballot stage.
MPs don't have to publically declare who they are backing.
In the last leadership battle in September, Dr Luke Evans backed Penny Mordaunt until she was knocked out in the penultimate stage.
This meant that his final vote was between Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak.
He voted for Rishi Sunak as he said he had been "struck by Rishi's honesty in the challenges that face the United Kingdom, and with his ability to get support out during the pandemic through the likes of the furlough scheme and bounce back loans."
