It will run from Sutton Wharf on the Ashby Canal.
Sutton Boat Trips are crowdfunding for £22,800, to help towards the build costs of their bespoke boat called Faraday.
The aim is that the eco friendly, solar powered, electric motor propelled Passenger Trip Boat will be ready to set sail in July 2023.
It will run from Sutton Wharf on the Ashby Canal in Leicestershire.
The team have set up the crowd funder to raise the final 33% of the costs needed.
People interested in helping the project can buy a ticket for a future trip.
Sutton Boat Trips said: "Once Faraday is built, we look forward to running an eco-friendly business and offer this new visitor attraction, which will educate and introduce a new generation of canal users to the ongoing use of the historic waterways in modern times.
"We will be offering a daily program of one-hour skippered trips for up to 12 passengers, with catered hospitality and a selection of hot/cold drinks from our licenced bar.
"The hour-long cruise will pass by Ambion Woodland has views of part of the Bosworth Battlefield and turns at the halfway point just before Shenton Aqueduct."
