Warwickshire Police is investigating an aggravated burglary in Nuneaton.

The incident happened at about 3.30pm on Thursday (22 June) in Paddiford Place.

One of the occupants was in the garden at the rear of the property when she noticed an unknown man by the gate. As the occupant went into the property, she saw a second man who was carrying what is believed to have been a hammer.

The man took a money pot and a metal Jack Daniels tin containing an amount of cash before striking the victim - a woman in her 20s - on her arm. She suffered slight injuries and brusing.  The two offenders then made off on foot in the direction of Church Road.

The first man is described as white, around 5ft 4in tall, of slight build, and in his early 20s. He was believed to be wearing a sports jacket with the hood over his head, possibly dark blue in colour, and dark coloured jogging bottoms.

The second man is thought to be white, around 5ft 4in tall, of slight build, and in his late teens to early 20s with mousy brown hair.  He was reported to be wearing dark coloured jogging bottoms, a light blue waterproof jacket, over a dark coloured hooded jacket and a red scarf around his lower face.

Investigating officers are keen to speak to those who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the incident or who has information which would help with enquiries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 319 of 22 June.
