Free parking for Christmas

Ashby and Coalville are encouraging people to shop local this Christmas.

Ashby de la Zouch and Coalville are encouraging shoppers to support local businesses by offering free parking this Christmas.

North West Leicestershire District Council car parks will be free of charge on every Saturday in December.

Charges usually apply in Coalville and Ashby de la Zouch, but will be free every Saturday from 1 - 27 December including all of the following car parks:

Coalville

• Market Hall
• Margaret Street
• James Street
• Council offices and London Road
• Needhams Walk.

Ashby de la Zouch

• Hood Park Leisure Centre
• North Street
• South Street
• Brook Street.

Councillor Alison Smith MBE, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Community Services at North West Leicestershire District Council, said: “Christmas is a really important time for the businesses in our towns and we can all support them by shopping locally.

“We want to make it convenient and easy to do this, so our council car parks will be free every Saturday in December.

“Please take advantage of this and help give our high streets a real boost this festive season.”
