Former Mayor of Hinckley and Bosworth Bill Joy has sadly passed away.
Before becoming Mayor he was a local police officer and was heavily involved in charity work.
He set up his charity to help abused children, raised money for CCTV for Hinckley and ran a contact centre for over 20 years.
His daughter Michelle, who set up the gofundme page, said: "We would like to give dad the send off that he deserves and then maybe a bench or something to be made in his memory where we can all go to pay our respects as he touched many people far and wide with his generosity and kindness over the years. "
Fosse 107's thoughts are with Kay and her family at this sad time.
