Hinckley and Bosworth have released the results of last nights Parish Council Elections and Neighbourhood Plan referendums. 

Burbage

Do you want Hinckley & Bosworth Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Burbage Parish to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?

Yes: votes: 4250, percentage: 85.17% | No: votes: 636, percentage: 12.75%

Turnout: 38.33%

Desford

Do you want Hinckley & Bosworth Council to use the neighbourhood plan for Desford Parish to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?

Yes: votes: 1331, percentage: 90.98% | No: votes: 105, percentage: 7.89%

County council counts are due to begin across the area at 11:30am.

Like many smaller elections, turnout is significantly lower than in a General Election. 

NW Leicestershire have reported a turnout of just 34.52% for all elections in the area.

10:15: What happened overnight?

While the County counts will not have started properly until this morning, ballots will already have been tabulated and counts may have begun on smaller Parish elections and Neighbourhood planning referendums.

In North West Leicestershire, there were two by-elections for the District Council.

Worthington & Breedon:
Raymond Morris (Conservative) – 696 ELECTED
Gregory Parle (Labour) - 139

CON GAIN

Meanwhile in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, the Conservatives saw a landslide victory. The Borough Council had been controlled by Labour for 48 of the last 50 years but they lost 11 seats, giving the Tories overall control with 24 to Labour's 7. You can read more here.
