A 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a collision on the M6 last week.

The man, from Warwickshire, was arrested on Monday 18th October.

A black BMW 5 Series, which was travelling north on the southbound carriageway, collided with a blue Nissan Juke near junction 1, just after 4.30 am on Friday (14 October).

The two people in the Juke – a man in his 40s and a woman in her 60s – were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The man died as a result of his injuries on Sunday. The woman remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Detectives are still appealing to anyone with information about the collision, but who has not yet come forward.
