Officers want to speak to anyone who was driving in the area between 5.15 am and the time police were called – 5.56 am.
A car was found in a ditch near Dadlington on Saturday (4 October) morning and police are asking for witnesses and dash cam footage.
At 5.56am, police were called after a silver Ford Fiesta was found after it left the road in Fenn Lanes – between the junctions of Shenton Lane and Mill Lane.
The driver – a man in his 30s – was still inside the car.
The driver was taken to the hospital and he currently remains in a critical condition.
At this time, it is not believed any other vehicles were involved.
Leicestershire Police, said, "As part of enquiries, officers are wanting to speak to anyone who was driving in the area between 5.15am and the time police were called – 5.56am.
"If anyone travelling in the area has dash cam – please review to see if the car involved has been captured or if there is any other footage that could assist the investigation.
"Please contact 101, quoting incident number 106 of 4 October."
