A serious collision has happened in Hathern this morning (18/06) and police are asking for witnesses.
Just after 5.30am, police were called to the A6 Loughborough Road, near the junction with Edward Phillipps Road, following a report that a Yamaha MT-07 motorcycle had collided with a bollard.
The rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital and is continuing to receive treatment for serious injuries.
A road closure remains in place at this time.
Detective Inspector Parminder Dhillon, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “Our investigation to establish what happened is in its early stages and I’d like to speak to anyone who can help us.
“I’m particularly keen to speak to anyone who was driving on the A6 this morning and saw the motorcycle at any point. Any dashcam footage you can provide could assist our enquiries.”
