Fire crews received a call at 15:10 on Saturday 13 March, with one woman needing to be cut free from her car.
A police spokesperson told Fosse107 that no one was injured.
Traffic is reportedly coping well with one lane closed from J23 A512 Ashby Road East (Loughborough) to J23A A42 (Derby / East Midlands Airport / Tamworth).
Fire engines from Loughborough and Castle Donington fire stations were sent.
